First formed in the late 1980s, the Australasian Society for Cognitive Science is the foremost society of experts dedicated to the interdisciplinary study of the mind in Australasia. The society is dedicated to bringing together experts from every discipline which studies the mind. Relevant disciplines include, but are not limited to, psychology, philosophy, neuroscience, computer science, information science, anthropology, law, education, social science, and linguistics.

The society has recently been reivigorated with a new consitution, steering committee and dedication to holding conferences every two years.
